Sex Therapy

Sex therapy is a specialized type of psychotherapy that addresses the mental health related concerns around sexual function, sexual feelings, and intimacy. Sex Therapists work with a variety of sexual health concerns from the simple to the comprehensive. Depending on the needs of the client, therapy can be brief and supportive or more intensive therapy over an extended period of time. Learn more about what it means to be a Sex Therapist at the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a widely known, structured approach to couples therapy that is rooted in attachment science and validated by 30 years of empirical research. EFT has been evaluated and proven by numerous publications, articles, and research since its formulation in 1980 by founder Dr. Sue Johnson. Learn more about EFT at The International Centre for Excellence In Emotionally Focused Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, attachment traumas, and panic disorders. After a stressful event, we can get 'stuck' in our natural stress response, which can involve experiencing overwhelming distress. EMDR utilizes the brain and the body to resume to its natural healing process by focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue.
